A brief account of Horror’s beginnings:

HORROR was founded by Cliff Brenner at Pace University in 1987, and has been an active list since 1988.

In January of 1994, under threat of discontinuation at Pace, HORROR was brought to Indiana University by Randal Shepard and Mildred Perkins.

Mildred still owns the list, taking an active role in maintaining and promoting HORROR, both behind the scenes handling all that nasty coding, and on-line as a sort of Miss Manners of the Nether Realm.

No one seems to know for sure what happened to Randal.
